My cousin taught me one super easy trick that he uses to buy only healthy groceries when he does his shopping.
This trick he helps him avoid the temptation of bringing home the junkier stuff.
For him, it’s autopilot now.
I’ve used it for a few years now and it really works!
It’s super easy to implement and I know you’ll love it as much as I did.
Here’s his trick:
Shop the perimeter of the store only.
Grab a cart and stick to the outer edges of the store. If possible, completely steer clear of the aisles. (Unless you need toilet paper. You can make an exception for that. Probably a good idea, actually.)
Grocery store aisles have this mesmerizing effect where you suddenly feel an absolute need for double-stuffed Oreos. Or Pringles. Or caramel-coated popcorn. (Can you tell I’m hungry?)
But what do you find on the perimeter of the store? Vegetables, fruits, meats, fish, and dairy coolers. If you can manage to arrive at the cash register after only visiting the perimeter of the store, you’ll have a cart full of fresh ingredients. No boxes, no cans, no packages.
Can you take the perimeter-only challenge?
