This smoothie tastes like pumpkin pie in a glass- a little sweet and slightly spiced.
The pumpkin gives it earthy undertones and the banana, yogurt and almond milk make it creamy.
This pumpkin smoothie is certain to satisfy a craving for dessert and yet is so healthy it can be eaten for breakfast! It is sweetened with maple syrup so there is no refined sugar.
I used almond milk in my pumpkin smoothie, but you could try using soy milk if you preferred.
I used a combination of cinnamon, ginger and all-spice to spice it up. If you’re in a rush, you could use 2 to 3 tsp of pumpkin pie spice instead.
1 1/2 cups plain yogurt
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground all-spice
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 cup almond milk
2 tbsp maple syrup
Add all ingredients to blender and whir until thoroughly combined. Add more almond milk to thin if desired.
Serve chilled. Garnish with cinnamon sticks if you’re feeling all fancy.
NOTES: You can freeze any leftovers in small mason jars. Just thaw, shake, and enjoy! Or eat it like frozen yogurt with a spoon!
