Imagine finding yourself with a big bloodstain on your mattress or clothes. Sometimes accidents happen, and you find yourself with a bloodstain you need to get rid of. We understand how stubborn blood stains can be and how bad they look. Bloodstains, if not correctly dealt with, can also spread some harmful bacteria. For that reason, we are here with a solution for you. We present some tips on how to get blood out of your mattress, clothes, and jeans.

How To Get Rid Of Blood Stains

Getting blood stains out of your clothes or bedding is not as tough as it appears to be. You can use some ingredients from your house, and the stains will be gone.

How To Get Blood Off A Mattress

Ladies, we understand how frustrating and annoying getting blood on your sheets is. It is even worse when the blood has gotten through to your mattress. However, with some simple steps and readily available ingredients, you can say goodbye to the stain on your mattress.

The first thing you have to keep in mind is that you should treat the stain immediately you notice it. That will increase the chances of the stain coming off completely. When removing the stain, avoid using a lot of water as that will take a long time to dry.

To remove the stain, you first have to soak a piece of cloth in cold water and use it to dab the bloodstain. Make sure not to use hot water as it cooks the blood, and it will be hard to get rid of. Coldwater dissolves the blood.

As the blood dissolves, grab the following items:

  • Meat tenderizer.
  • Coldwater.
  • Hydrogen peroxide.
  • Baking soda.
  • A piece of a damp cloth.

Once you have all your ingredients follow the following steps:

  • Mix a small amount of the tenderizer and water to form a paste and then apply it to the stain. Leave it for an hour and then wipe it off with a damp cloth.
  • Pour a little amount of hydrogen peroxide on the stain until it bubbles and dabs it with the damp cloth. Repeat a few times if need be.
  • Mix some water with a small amount of baking soda and apply the paste to the stain. Leave it for 30 minutes and remove it using a damp cloth.
  • Finally, mix some hydrogen peroxide and some baking soda and apply the paste to the stain. Leave it for a few minutes and rub it off with your damp cloth.

Always ensure that after the stain removal process, your mattress dries off completely. You can use a fan to help make it dry faster.

How To Get Blood Off Your Clothes

We’ve all had accidents where we end up with blood stains on our clothes and have to figure out how to get rid of them without leaving a mark. It is worse if the stain is on a white cloth.

Well, wipe that worried look off your face because we have what you need. Here are some easy steps you can follow to get the blood off your clothes and make it look like it was never there in the first place.

The first thing you have to do is to look at the label of the cloth with the stain. Ensure that bleach or any other substance that is not washing powder will not damage your fabric. Make sure that you remove the stain immediately you notice it if you can.

Gather the following items:

  • Coldwater.
  • Hydrogen peroxide or bar soap.
  • Laundry pre-treater or liquid laundry detergent.
  • Fabric safe bleach.
  • Sponge.

Steps:

  • Soak the cloth in cold water or have it under running water.
  • Wet the sponge with hydrogen peroxide. Alternatively, you can rub bar soap on the stain and scrub using your hands in cold water.
  • Apply laundry pre-cleaner or liquid laundry detergent and then wash off the remaining stain with your bleach until it is no longer there.

Ensure that you do not put your cloth into the dyer until you entirely remove the stain as that will make it permanent.

How To Remove Blood Stains From Jeans

Got a bloodstain on your new pair of jeans? Well, worry no more. Follow this easy step-by-step guide and say goodbye to the stain forever.

Items required:

  • A washcloth.
  • Piece of cloth.
  • Coldwater.

Steps:

  • Blot the bloodstain. For this step, place the washcloth directly under the stain on the inside of your jeans. That prevents the stain from spreading to the other side of the jean. Soak your piece of cloth and blot the stained spot of your jeans to help drain the excess blood. Make sure not to rub the stain as that will only spread it all over your jeans. Repeat the blotting until there is no more blood on the cloth. Hot or warm water is not recommended for that step or any other step as it sets the stain on your jeans.
  • Soak your jeans. Ensure you have a sink or any container full of cold water. Get rid of the washcloth in the first step and soak your jeans in the cold water. Leave it for 10-30 minutes. The longer you leave it, the better the results.
  • Wring off the excess water from your jeans. You can use your hands, or you can place them in the washing machine.
  • Layout the wet jeans and place a new washcloth inside the jeans exactly below where the stain is.

After doing that, your jeans will look as good as new.

Now that you have learned how to remove blood stains from your mattress, clothes, and jeans, there is no need to freak out any time you spot a bloodstain on your clothes or bedding. All you have to do is repeat the above steps, and all your fabrics will be as if there has never been a stain on them.

After removing the satin, always make sure to leave your clothes to dry completely.
